Collection & Transportation
Daily door-step collection from member healthcare facilities using dedicated, GPS-fitted
vehicles. Waste is collected in colour-coded, leak-proof containers and transported in line with
the BMW Rules, 2016 and the Central Motor Vehicle Rules.
Receiving & Segregation
On arrival, waste is weighed, logged and sorted in a dedicated receiving and sorting room,
ensuring each category follows the correct treatment route.
Incineration
Anatomical, soiled and other incinerable waste is treated in engineered incinerators fitted
with air pollution control systems and a tall stack with continuous emission monitoring.
Autoclaving & Shredding
Recyclable plastics and sharps are disinfected by autoclaving, then shredded and mutilated so
they cannot be reused, before being handed to authorised recyclers.
Effluent Treatment (ZLD)
Wash and process water is treated in an on-site Effluent Treatment Plant and fully reused
— no treated or untreated water leaves the premises, in keeping with our Zero Liquid
Discharge commitment.
Documentation & Reporting
Manifest and barcode-based tracking, manual log books maintained by both the facility and the
member HCF, and statutory annual and half-yearly reporting to the regulators.
